About Sarvodya Shikshan Sanstha, Umadi
It was established in 1961 by the Freedom Fighter Comrade Late Kallappanna Hortikar and Strengthened by his brother Late RC Hortikar. The next generation of Hortikar family visionaries; Chairman, Mahadevappa K Hortikar and the Secretary Shrishail Hortikar are taking it to newer Horizons to cater to the new academic demands of the Society.The very motto of “Vidya Vineyn Shobhate” is being cultivated among the generations of learners together.
The aim of the Society is the widespread education in Jath Taluka situated on the border of Karnataka and Maharashtra. The journey with a High school has flourished into 22 branches from Primary Secondary, Higher secondary, diploma ,MCVC, Ashramashala, boarding and a senior college. The society celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2011. The institutional quality efforts are appreciated and acknowledged by the Government of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The alumni of this institute are contributing national development in different fields of their choice. Strong social bond with society is the special identity of the Sanstha.
